      The first facilities created under the initiative budgeting project "It's up to you!" were opened in Nizhny Novgorod in 2026 — these are sports grounds in schools of the Sormovsky district. Details were shared by the city administration.

      It became known that sports facilities were opened at schools No. 79 and 85. The head of the regional center, Yuri Shalabaev, assessed the results of the work. He reminded that a multifunctional area was arranged at school No. 79 a year earlier: there, kids can play football and volleyball. The new facility — a hockey "box" — will be used for various sports in warm weather, and in winter — specifically for playing with sticks and pucks, as well as for ice skating.

      As for school No. 85, it received two sports grounds — a volleyball court and a multifunctional area. Their total size exceeded 1,300 square meters. According to Yuri Shalabaev, the contracting organizations are handing over the facilities ahead of schedule. "For school No. 85, the contractual deadlines are July 1, but the facility was handed over in May. This is an example for everyone, but we need to ensure that all work is carried out without loss of quality," the mayor clarified.
