This document is a continuation of the previously active Memorandum signed in 2018 and marks a new stage in the partnership. The ceremony took place during a meeting between the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, and a delegation from the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Tomislav Zigmanov. The event was part of the Serbian delegation's visit to the Nizhny Novgorod region to participate in the annual "CIPR" conference. "Our regions have long established strong friendly and partnership relations. Since 2007, our administrative centers—Nizhny Novgorod and Novi Sad—have been sister cities. Joint events and exchange visits are held regularly. We have organized Vojvodina Culture Days in Nizhny Novgorod and Nizhny Novgorod Culture Days in Novi Sad, as well as joint exhibitions of artists and photo projects dedicated to the cultural heritage of our regions. Creative groups from Vojvodina participated in the international arts festival 'Golden Autumn.' We will promote a more active development of cooperation between our regions," noted Gleb Nikitin. The signing of the Memorandum implies the development of interaction in the fields of industry, agriculture, culture, education, tourism, and other areas that will impact overall economic development. "Our goal is for the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina to develop relations in the spirit of friendship and mutual respect, implementing joint cultural, economic, and educational projects. The signed document gives a new impetus to our cooperation, especially in the areas of economy, science, education, and tourism," said Tomislav Zigmanov. The importance of developing interaction with Serbia was also emphasized by the Minister of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Olga Guseva. "Serbia is one of the strategic partners of the Nizhny Novgorod region. We are convinced that the accumulated experience and achieved results, along with the Memorandum of Intent signed today, will create an excellent basis for further deepening the partnership. We hope for new joint projects and the continuation of constructive dialogue," said Olga Guseva. It is worth noting that the XI conference "Digital Industry of Industrial Russia" ("CIPR") is taking place in Nizhny Novgorod from May 18 to 21, 2026, with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, and the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
