Families of Nizhny Novgorod veterans and participants of the SVO were invited to the ballet "Swan Lake."
On May 21, 2026, at 17:45 Culture and Recreation Families of Nizhny Novgorod veterans and participants of the Special Military Operation attended the famous ballet "Swan Lake" at the Nizhny Novgorod State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Pushkin. The event was organized by the coordination center for supporting military personnel and their families, operating at the House of National Unity. "Art gives any person a positive charge and new impressions. Of course, the families of the participants of the Special Military Operation and the guys who are returning home should receive these positive and kind emotions. Such events have already become a good tradition. This time we organized a visit to a masterpiece of world ballet classics - 'Swan Lake.' We will continue our cultural support program, including visits to theaters, museums, exhibitions, and concert venues," noted the head of the coordination center, Tatyana Druzhinina. Families from the Ardatovsky, Pavlovsky, and Krasnobakovsky districts were invited to the theater. "I came with my wife and younger son. I had only been to a ballet at a young age, went with my mom - and it was also 'Swan Lake.' Now I watch with such nostalgia! I want to say a big thank you for the wonderful opportunity to be with my family at such an event and to see the famous ballet. This is really a good way of social adaptation," shared SVO veteran Vasily Karasev from Krasnye Bakov. "It's my first time at the ballet, and my mood is excellent! It's very nice to be invited. It's interesting and helps distract from anxious expectations. Such support gives strength," said the wife of an SVO participant, Oksana from Ardatov. The opera and ballet theater has participated in the cultural support program for the families of fighters more than once. "It is important for us to see in the theater people who today experience colossal internal and human tension. Tchaikovsky's music has an amazing power; it does not require explanations, does not divide people, but helps a person hear themselves again, find inner support, new strength, and perhaps even new meanings. And if our theater can give someone this feeling, then everything we do has real meaning," emphasized acting director of the Pushkin Opera and Ballet Theater, Eduard Musakhanian. Recall that during the winter holidays, the families of SVO participants were able to see the New Year's ballet "The Nutcracker" at the opera and ballet theater. Recently, they attended the play "Pretenders" at the Youth Theater. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
