Participants of CIPR-2026 in Nizhny Novgorod discussed investments in active longevity.

On May 19, 2026, at 19:05, participants of the CIPR (12+) in Nizhny Novgorod discussed investments in active longevity and technologies for preserving cognitive health. The discussion took place on May 18 as part of the session "Investments in Life Extension. Market, Technologies, Human," reports IA "NTA-Volga."

Experts noted that the world is facing a significant demographic shift: for the first time, there are more people over 60 than children under five. According to forecasts, by 2030, the number of people over 60 on the planet will reach 2 billion.

In Russia, according to discussion participants, nearly a quarter of the population already belongs to the older age group, and by 2046 this share could rise to a third of the population. At the same time, 38 million Russians need rehabilitation aids.

Speakers emphasized that the key problem is the gap between life expectancy and healthy life expectancy. In Russia, this gap is 10-12 years. It is during this period that people lose economic activity and more frequently require medical assistance.

Session participants stated that the old model of "getting sick - we treat" is outdated. It should be replaced by early diagnosis, prevention, and digital technologies for identifying cognitive impairments.

Among the priority areas for investment, experts named biotechnology, pharmaceuticals using AI, digital diagnostics, and infrastructure for active longevity.

Earlier, the topic of longevity was discussed at a meeting of journalists with South African entrepreneur and politician Errol Musk, the father of American billionaire Elon Musk.
