      On May 20, 2026, at 11:00, 18 municipal schools were switched to remote learning due to a nighttime drone attack in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by the head of the regional Ministry of Education, Mikhail Puchkov. One state school also began operating in a remote format.

      "This is a preventive measure aimed solely at ensuring the safety of our children and staff of educational institutions. We are keeping the situation under control and I am personally in touch with the Department of Education of Nizhny Novgorod," the head of the regional Ministry of Education wrote on his MAX channel.

      The minister urged everyone to approach the situation with understanding and not to panic.

      Let us remind you that on the night and morning of May 20, the Nizhny Novgorod region was subjected to a drone attack. During this period, 30 drones were destroyed in the region.

      As a result of falling debris, two industrial facilities in the Kstovo district were damaged. There are no casualties, and no damage to municipal buildings, apartment buildings, or private homes has been recorded.
