A woman reported to the police about the theft of her gadget worth 70,599 rubles, according to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region. Law enforcement officials initiated a criminal case for theft and soon identified a suspect — a 44-year-old acquaintance of the victim. The citizen, who is unemployed and previously convicted for theft, did not deny it and confessed to everything. Yes, he took the laptop, took it to a pawn shop, and sold it for 26,000 rubles. He has already spent the money, but he categorically refused to voluntarily compensate for the damage caused. The maximum penalty for his article under the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation is up to 5 years of imprisonment. The laptop has been seized from the pawn shop and will soon be returned to its owner.
