On May 18, 2026, at 12:45, Society In Nizhny Novgorod, three citizens of Germany received permits for temporary residence in Russia. As reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region, they intend to obtain Russian citizenship in the future. The reason for the relocation of foreign citizens was their disagreement with the policies of the countries of their citizenship or permanent residence. Among those who received permission is Pauls Walter Vladlen, a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences. His decision stems from his disagreement with the policies of the German authorities.

"The history of our family goes back to a distant past and is inextricably linked to the history of relations between our states. We deeply respect the memory of the feats of our ancestors. However, today the politics of my country contradict the values and historical memory that we honor. That is why we decided to move to Russia," he noted.

According to the scholar, two years ago he came to Russia and found himself in Nizhny Novgorod thanks to the opportunity to participate in a scientific and technological project in the field of X-ray optics. He emphasized that he sees prospects for professional growth and feels support at the regional level. Alexander and Elvira Assenheimer also received permits for temporary residence. Alexander plans to work in the IT sector, while Elvira intends to find employment as a librarian. For them, the move became an opportunity to realize professional plans and build a future in Russia. Earlier, it was reported that more than a hundred Syrians received temporary asylum in the Nizhny Novgorod region. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
