A magnetic storm will hit Nizhny Novgorod on May 18.

      On May 18, 2026, at 12:18 PM, Society Today reports that a magnetic storm is expected in Nizhny Novgorod. Geomagnetic disturbances are expected to last approximately from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The maximum intensity will reach level G1. In the morning of May 19, fluctuations may recur, but after this period, the geomagnetic situation should stabilize. The laboratory noted that the main influencing factor on Earth remains the ongoing impact of a large coronal hole. Although the schedule of magnetic storms has returned to the green zone, the solar wind speed remains elevated at 500-600 km/s, compared to normal values of 300-400 km/s. During periods of increased solar activity, weather-sensitive individuals may experience a deterioration in well-being. Special attention to health should be given by those suffering from blood pressure fluctuations and cardiovascular diseases. Specialists advise reducing physical and emotional stress as much as possible and avoiding stressful situations.
