Nizhny Novgorod region will strengthen cooperation with Brazil in the fields of business, culture, and sports.

The key topic of the visit was the expansion of bilateral cooperation in trade, economics, industry, culture, and sports. During the meeting, representatives of the Nizhny Novgorod regional government and the Brazilian delegation discussed promising areas of interaction between the region and Brazilian partners, the development of business contacts, the creation of joint projects, and the strengthening of humanitarian ties. "We invited our partners for a more substantive dialogue and personal acquaintance with our region. They proposed, and we are already working on the issue of the possible opening of the House of Brazil in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This country is also interested in our chemical industry, and we have enterprises with great potential to enter this market. Such a commercial structure would promote the interests of both Brazilian companies in the region and the interests of Russia and the Nizhny Novgorod region in Brazil," noted Dmitry Starostin, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. As part of the business program, the Brazilian side was presented with the industrial, production, and export potential of Nizhny Novgorod enterprises. The discussion included opportunities for cooperation in educational technologies, industrial equipment, and building materials, as well as prospects for localizing production and creating joint ventures in Latin America. Companies such as LLC "PKF BK-Studio," LLC "VORTEXPROM," and GC "GeoSM" presented their production potentials. "The Nizhny Novgorod region is extremely interested in deepening comprehensive cooperation with our Brazilian partners. The level of industrial and technological development in the region opens up vast opportunities for exporting Russian products and creating joint ventures. Today's meeting allowed us to present not only the investment and production potential of leading regional companies but also to outline promising areas of interaction in sports and culture. I am confident that the meeting will lay a solid foundation for further mutually beneficial development and strategic partnership," emphasized Arthur Batursky, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation with the Sambo Federation of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, conducting joint sports and cultural events, and developing cinematography. "Over the past 30 years, interest in sambo in Brazil has been steadily growing. Much of this is due to the successes of Russian athletes. In 2028, we will celebrate two significant anniversaries - the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Brazil and the 90th anniversary of sambo. In this regard, we proposed to our Brazilian colleagues to hold international match meetings in sports and combat sambo. Such competitions can attract the attention of the global sports community and also serve as an additional incentive for the development of humanitarian and trade-economic ties between the countries," noted Alexey Rostovtsev, President of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Public Organization "FSNO." "We have only positive impressions from today's meeting with representatives of the government. We are actively preparing for 2028 - the two-hundredth anniversary of the establishment of relations between Russia and Brazil, and today we discussed a number of initiatives, including in the sports field. We hope that all these projects will yield good results," said Devenire Cavalcante de Lima, Vice President of the Brazil-Russia Business Council. The Minister of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Olga Guseva, emphasized the importance of developing inter-municipal cooperation between the Nizhny Novgorod region and the regions of Brazil. "We pay special attention to the development of cooperation between Nizhny Novgorod and Brazilian municipalities. The Gorodetsky district is already cooperating with the municipality of Trindade in the state of Goiás, while the Voskresensky district interacts with the city of Campina das Missões in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. In the future, we also plan to establish sister city relations between Dzerzhinsk and the city of Jundiaí in the state of São Paulo. In addition, we are currently working on establishing partnership ties between the Nizhny Novgorod region and three Brazilian states: Bahia, São Paulo, and Rio Grande do Sul. All this will open up new horizons and opportunities for exchanging experiences and knowledge, which, in turn, contributes to strengthening cultural ties and developing business partnerships," said Olga Guseva.

      At the end of the visit, the delegation of the Brazil-Russia Business Council visited the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin and laid flowers at the "Eternal Flame" memorial.
