"For our trip to the capital of Belarus, we chose the best we have in our repertoire today – the nominated performance for the Russian National Theater Award, the musical comedy by Gennady Gladkov 'A Dog in the Manger.' And we brought it almost immediately after the show in the capital of Russia, on the historic stage of the Vakhtangov Theater. From one capital to another – our best and most awarded performance," he noted. The renowned "A Dog in the Manger" is being presented by the Nizhny Novgorod troupe on the stage of one of the largest theaters in the country – the Belarusian State Academic Musical Theater. "Minsk, May, the intoxicating air of inspiration and the main phrase of our performance – 'there is no beginning stronger than love in nature.' This is what our tour is all about in two words!" shared the artistic director of the theater, Sergey Mindrin. The children's theater "Vera" brought performances "Scarlet Sails" and "Nose the Dwarf" for the Belarusian audience. They are being held on the stage of the Belarusian State Academic Theater for Young Spectators. "Our first acquaintance took place last autumn when the Belarusian Young Spectators Theater came to the Gorky Festival. Then we, as two theaters for children from sister cities, agreed on cooperation. And now all tickets for our 'Scarlet Sails' and 'Nose the Dwarf' have long been sold out in Minsk! Such meetings provide new creative experiences, new friends, new repertoire ideas. I believe that our friendship is destined. At our very first meeting, we felt mutual interest in each other. After all, we have a lot in common: we create fairy tales and believe in the miracle of theater," said Vera Gorshkova, the artistic director of the theater "Vera." For the first time, the Nizhny Novgorod theater "Comedy" became a participant in the International Cultural and Educational Festival "Path of Friendship." Its stage during the festival was the National Academic Theater named after Y. Kupala. "To be on the land of Belarus is an honor in itself, and being part of the delegation from Nizhny Novgorod is doubly honorable. I hope we will win over the Minsk audience. We will show one of the best comedies of all time, 'The Taming of the Shrew,' and a lyrical, poignant performance 'Ordinary People,' in which we pay tribute to the heroism and our common Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
