      In Nizhny Novgorod, the graphic fair "Contour" and the photography fair "Contour.Photo" continue — some of the largest regional projects in the field of contemporary art and collecting. Until May 17, dozens of Russian galleries, authors, and special projects uniting contemporary art, photography, graphics, and object design are presented in the space of the Red Barracks. This year, "Contour" has significantly expanded its scale and has become one of the key cultural venues for the May holidays in the city. The fair gathers not only the professional art community and collectors but also a wide audience — city residents, young authors, students, and tourists who have come to Nizhny Novgorod for cultural events. One of the notable participants of the fair is the "Height" gallery. Its booth features a rare etching by the legendary American artist Kiki Smith, whose works are in the collections of the largest museums in the world, and works by contemporary artist Oleg Ivashchenko. Among other participants are leading Russian galleries and independent projects working with contemporary art, photography, and print graphics. Visitors can see both young authors and works by museum-level artists, who are rarely represented outside of Moscow and St. Petersburg. As previously noted by the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Oleg Berkovich, today "Contour" is gradually forming a full-fledged environment for collectors and a new cultural audience in Nizhny Novgorod. "It is especially important that around the fair, a community of people is gradually forming who are beginning to take an interest in collecting, contemporary art, and photography. For Nizhny Novgorod, this is a very important process — when culture becomes a part of urban life not only through institutions but also through the personal interest of people," he noted. The fairs "Contour" and "Contour.Photo" are taking place in the Red Barracks on the Lower Volga Embankment until May 17 inclusive.
