      High (Class 4) fire hazard for forests and peat bogs is expected in places across the Nizhny Novgorod region from May 13 to May 18. This is reported by the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Upper Volga Hydrometeorological Center". Specialists remind that in order to prevent fires in the natural environment, it is prohibited to: throw burning matches, cigarette butts, smoldering rags in the forest; light a fire in dense thickets and coniferous young growth, under low-hanging tree crowns, near wood and peat storage, in close proximity to ripening agricultural crops; leave self-igniting materials in the forest: rags and waste soaked in oil, gasoline, glass containers that can focus sunlight and ignite dry vegetation on sunny days; burn dry grass in forest clearings, gardens, fields, under trees; set fire to reeds; light a fire in windy weather and leave it unattended; leave a fire burning after leaving a campsite.
