New emergency at the Orion factory in Dzerzhinsk: a worker suffered severe burns

      On May 15, 2026, at 18:18, Incidents In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a 39-year-old synthesis operator of the 3rd category at LLC "NPP Orion" suffered severe burns while working. This was reported by the State Labor Inspectorate for the region. The industrial accident occurred on May 9. According to the inspectorate, the man spilled a product, onto which a heavy metal object was then dropped. As a result, a flash occurred. The worker was taken to the hospital. Doctors diagnosed thermal burns to the face, neck, both hands, and feet. The affected area was 15% of the body surface. The injuries were classified as severe. The State Labor Inspectorate has begun an investigation into the industrial accident to establish all circumstances and causes. According to data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, LLC "NPP Orion" is located in Dzerzhinsk, with the main type of activity listed as "production of other basic inorganic chemical substances." It should be noted that this is not the first such incident at the enterprise. In the evening of September 12, 2024, an explosion and fire occurred at the NPP "Orion" site in Dzerzhinsk. At that time, a 35-year-old synthesis operator of the 3rd category suffered burns to about 70% of his body surface. Another explosion with subsequent ignition occurred on the evening of August 29, 2024. Two synthesis operators of the 3rd category, aged 54 and 67, were injured.
