Nizhny Novgorod Region" program Nikolai Pelevin has been appointed to the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Social Policy of the Administration of the City District of Arzamas. This was reported by the press service of the governor and the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region. "Today there is an objective need for the experience of participants in the special military operation to be involved in the work of local self-government. At the same time, it is useful for the administrations themselves to periodically refresh their staff. I am sure this will become a mutually beneficial cooperation for the benefit of the residents. Moreover, Nikolai Alexandrovich has already accumulated serious professional experience, so the result will definitely benefit the cause," noted the mayor of Arzamas Alexander Shchelokov. Nikolai Pelevin's responsibilities will include the implementation of social support measures, work on social contracts and the provision of subsidies; organizing activities related to guardianship concerning adult and minor citizens; providing support measures to participants of the special military operation and their family members, including the development and implementation of best practices in this direction. "For me, the new position is a great honor and a huge responsibility. I am proud of the trust placed in me within the framework of the 'Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region' program. The experience gained during the special military operation and the support of colleagues will help me justify it and be useful to people, veterans, and families of defenders of the Fatherland. I am ready to work conscientiously and bring real benefits to my native region," emphasized Nikolai Pelevin. It was previously reported that deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted several laws to support participants of the special military operation and their families.

      The "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program is aimed at the integration and employment of participants and veterans of the special military operation into the system of public administration and enterprises of the region. In March 2025, an agreement was signed between the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region, RANEPA, and KUPNO on cooperation in implementing this program. Based on the results of the selection tests, as well as face-to-face interviews with the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Andrey Gneushev, 60 participants of the main educational program and 30 people for training in the program for returning to the region were identified.

      On August 4, 2025, the official opening of training under the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program took place, attended by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin. At this point, the third educational module of the program has been completed.
