Nizhny Novgorod Region" program and a veteran of the special military operation, was appointed to the administration of Arzamas. He took the position of deputy director of the department of social policy of the urban district.

      As noted by the mayor of Arzamas, Alexander Shchelokov, there is an objective need today to involve the experience of participants in the special military operation in the work of local government bodies. According to him, the renewal of the personnel composition is also beneficial for the administrations themselves.

      "I am confident that this will become a mutually beneficial cooperation for the good of the residents. Moreover, Nikolai Alexandrovich has already accumulated serious professional experience, so the result will definitely benefit the cause," emphasized Alexander Shchelokov.

      Nikolai Pelevin's responsibilities will include the implementation of social support measures for the population, work on social contracts, and the provision of subsidies. He will also organize activities related to guardianship for both minors and adult citizens.

      A separate direction will be the support of participants in the special military operation and their families, including the development and implementation of best practices in this area.

      Nikolai Pelevin himself called the appointment a great honor and serious responsibility. He noted that he is grateful for the trust placed in him within the framework of the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program and intends to justify it with his work.

Nizhny Novgorod Region" program aims to integrate and employ participants and veterans of the special military operation into the system of public administration and enterprises in the region. In March 2025, the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region, RANEPA, and KUPNO signed an agreement on cooperation for the implementation of the project. As a result of the selection, 60 participants of the main program were identified, along with another 30 people who will undergo training after returning to the region.

      The official start of training under the program took place on August 4, 2025, with the participation of the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin. Currently, the third educational module has been completed.
