      May 13, 2026 18:00 Incidents The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, has requested a report on the criminal case regarding the house with cracks following a complaint from a resident of Pavlov, Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by the information center of the agency. The woman reported the poor condition of a multi-apartment building built in 1961 on Suvorova Street. According to her, the building is deteriorating: the structures and foundation are damaged, cracks have appeared in the walls, and the adjacent territory is regularly flooded. At the same time, the house was excluded from the capital repair program for the current year. Appeals to various authorities have yielded no results. Earlier, the regional investigative department initiated a criminal case; however, this decision was overturned by the supervisory authority. Later, investigators reopened the case to protect the rights of the residents. Bastrykin instructed the head of the Investigative Committee for the Nizhny Novgorod region, Ayrat Akhmetshin, to report on the progress and outcomes of the investigation, as well as on measures to restore citizens' rights. The central office of the agency is monitoring the execution of the instruction. Earlier, the head of the Investigative Committee requested a report on the cracked multi-apartment building in Balakhna on Engels Street. Due to the threat of further destruction, an emergency situation was declared near the house, and residents were evacuated.
