Nizhny Novgorod residents increased the production of butter by 60%.
The physical volume index of food production in the Nizhny Novgorod region for the first quarter of 2026 was 102.5% (an increase of 2.5%). This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The production of beverages during the same period grew even more – to 109.4%. The Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the region, Nikolai Denisov, noted that the production of butter increased the most: by more than 60 percent, to 2.9 thousand tons. Cheese production increased by almost 24% – to 2.9 thousand tons. The production of poultry meat and offal increased by 13% (almost 20 thousand tons), while meat semi-finished products grew by 12% (more than 13 thousand tons). The production of confectionery also increased: 12.6 thousand tons, which is 9.2% more. In total, enterprises shipped products worth 57.5 billion rubles – 4.7% more than last year.
