Yuri Stankevich congratulated journalists on Radio Day and made his debut as a radio host.
On May 8, 2026, 15:33 Society On Radio Day, May 7, State Duma deputy, Deputy Chairman of the Energy Committee Yuri Stankevich visited the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Information Center. He congratulated journalists on their professional holiday and for the first time tried his hand at being the host of the program "Domestic Politics" on Radio "Komsomolskaya Pravda." "For me, this is not just a performance on air, but a real debut in the role of a radio host. A very emotional and exciting moment," noted Yuri Stankevich. In his congratulation, the deputy emphasized that the strongest weapon in the world is the word, and it must be used very skillfully and carefully. The discussion center focused on issues of digital transformation, adaptation to new technological realities, including mobile internet restrictions, preparation for the upcoming electoral cycle, and the impact of the international agenda on the Russian economy. The role of the media and parliamentarians in building a direct dialogue with citizens was discussed separately. Speaking about the significance of audio media in the modern era, the deputy emphasized: "In the conditions of digitalization and the active introduction of artificial intelligence, the power of live speech and emotional contact takes on new meaning. Empathy, the ability to convey one's position—objective or subjective—to the listener in real-time today has no analogs." Speaking about the temporary restrictions of mobile internet, it was noted that despite certain everyday inconveniences, the priority remains the safety of citizens, and Russian society traditionally demonstrates high adaptability to changing conditions. Summarizing almost five years of work in the State Duma, Yuri Stankevich noted the importance of constant contact with voters and the need to hear their requests. Journalists, in turn, highlighted key issues concerning Nizhny Novgorod residents today: economic stability, social support for families, primarily housing availability, and confidence in the future. "Nizhny Novgorod is one of the most 'radio-friendly' cities in Russia. It is nice that on Radio Day, we were visited by State Duma deputy, Deputy Chairman of the Energy Committee Yuri Stankevich. His debut on our air was successful. We discussed important issues of the economy, culture, and the development of the country," noted the editor of Radio "Komsomolskaya Pravda" in Nizhny Novgorod, Lyudmila Maslova. The editor-in-chief of "Komsomolskaya Pravda" in Nizhny Novgorod, Yulia Vasilishina, noted the resilience of traditional media: "Today, especially under the conditions of mobile internet restrictions, there is a kind of renaissance of traditional media, and radio is at the forefront. Even in the absence of a network, the receiver continues to work, remaining a reliable source of information." Traditionally, Radio Day precedes Victory Day, and the themes of preserving historical memory, generational continuity, and responsibility to the past became an organic conclusion to the program. "Today, we have almost three million people in the Nizhny Novgorod region and less than 100 veterans, living participants of combat actions, witnesses of that tragedy, horror, and triumph of the Soviet people. With each year that distances us from the Day of Great Victory, our memory should not weaken, but, on the contrary, strengthen," emphasized Yuri Stankevich.
