      May 7, 2026 18:22 Society Alexey Generalov, the former Deputy Minister of Internal Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, has been appointed as the new head of the regional branch of the Popular Front. There is no information about his appointment on the official page of the organization on "VKontakte." However, in press releases, Generalov is specifically mentioned as the head of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Organization of the Popular Front. It is known that Generalov has registered for the "United Russia" primaries to run for the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region in September 2026. The former head of the Popular Front, Andrey Zhiltsev, received two years in a penal colony for fraud involving subsidies.
