More than 500 residents of Nizhny Novgorod found jobs as a result of the regional stage of the All-Russian Employment Fair.

      May 8, 2026 14:50 Economy More than 500 residents of Nizhny Novgorod found jobs as a result of the regional stage of the All-Russian Employment Fair "Work of Russia. Time for Opportunities." The regional stage took place in Nizhny Novgorod on April 17, 2026, as part of the national project "Personnel" and was timed to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the Employment Service. More than 2,000 residents of Nizhny Novgorod received job offers directly at the venue. Three weeks later, 517 of them were already employed. Citizens found jobs in the following sectors: "passenger transport," "food industry," "defense industry," "pulp and paper industry," "machine engineering," "shipbuilding," "chemical and radio-electronic industry." "The share of vacancies for skilled trades at the fair was over 60 percent. These positions became the most in demand among job seekers and resulted in the highest number of actual placements. Nizhny Novgorod residents took on such sought-after vacancies as plumber, painter, assembler, and repairman. Citizens also secured positions as chemical analysis laboratory assistants, checkpoint controllers, dispatchers, and control post operators," noted Igor Pantyukhin, Minister of Demography and Human Capital Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The regional stage of the All-Russian Employment Fair took place at the updated Sormovsky branch of the Nizhny Novgorod Employment Center "Work of Russia." Employment service consultants provided citizens with all necessary support measures: they assisted with resume writing, job matching, career guidance, and also provided information about opportunities for free training and retraining within the framework of the national project "Personnel." It is worth noting that about 10,000 residents of Nizhny Novgorod participated in the regional stage. The event brought together 315 employers who presented over 15,400 vacancies in industry, IT, agriculture, construction, transport, and the social sphere. The fair was held simultaneously in 35 branches of the Nizhny Novgorod Employment Service across the region's municipalities. The federal stage of the All-Russian Employment Fair is scheduled for the end of June 2026.
