Five villages proposed to become rural settlements in the Koverninsky district.

On May 8, 2026, at 16:11, Society In the Koverninsky district, it was proposed to change the status of five villages to eliminate address duplication. The corresponding bill has been submitted to the Legislative Assembly. Historically, the district has villages with the same names and types, but belonging to different rural councils. However, current federal legislation requires uniqueness of addresses within municipal divisions, as duplication creates difficulties in entering information into the federal information address system. In this regard, it is proposed to designate the villages in the Gavrilovsky rural council: Garel, Stepanovo, and Mikhailovo, as well as the village of Klyuchi in the Bolshomostovsky rural council and Mokushino in the Skorobogatovsky. The explanatory note states that the changes take into account the results of a survey of residents. In Garel, one of the two registered individuals participated in it. In Mokushino, five out of six. All voted for changing the status of the settlement. There are no registered residents in the villages of Mikhailovo, Stepanovo, and Klyuchi. In this case, its status can be changed by the regional law with the consent of the representative body of the municipality. It was previously reported that two uninhabited villages in the Semyonovsky district were proposed to be designated as villages. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
