The victim of the drone attack in Chuvashia was taken to the Burn Center of PIMU.

      On May 7, 2026, at 16:35, incidents involving a 39-year-old victim of a drone attack in Cheboksary were urgently transported to the Burn Center of the PIMU University Clinic on the evening of May 6. This was reported by the institution's press service.

      The drone attack in Chuvashia occurred on May 5. From the moment the injury was sustained, Nizhny Novgorod specialists were in contact with colleagues from another region: they organized a telemedicine consultation and approved a treatment plan.

      After stabilizing the man's condition, doctors decided to transfer him urgently to Nizhny Novgorod. The patient was hospitalized in the anesthesiology and intensive care unit. He was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia and first-degree burns on the face, covering less than 5% of the body surface.

      Last night, efforts continued to maintain the vital functions of the victim. In the morning, a therapeutic-diagnostic bronchoscopy was performed to clarify the extent of damage to the tracheobronchial tree, clarified Igor Arefyev, the chief freelance burn specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Nizhny Novgorod region, chief physician of the PIMU University Clinic, and head of the Burn Center.

      The patient is currently in a state of medically induced sleep and on artificial ventilation. His condition is assessed as seriously stable; however, the absence of severe burns "instills cautious hope" for a positive outcome. Specialists at the Burn Center are working on restoring the victim's independent breathing, clearing his airways of combustion products, and eliminating the likelihood of infectious complications.
