"Pari NN" and "Torpedo" honored the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

      Active players of Nizhny Novgorod's professional sports clubs participated in an event dedicated to the celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Athletes from the hockey teams "Torpedo" and "Start," the football club "Paris NN," the basketball team "Paris NN," the volleyball teams "Gorky" and "Sparta," the futsal teams "Torpedo" and "Normanochka," representatives of the ANO "Center for Management and Development of Sports in the Nizhny Novgorod Region," as well as students from specialized sports schools honored the memory of heroes with a moment of silence, laid flowers at the "Eternal Flame," and shared personal family stories.

      "Engaging all sports clubs in the city to participate in laying flowers is a great tradition, the significance of which is hard to overestimate. This is, first and foremost, a powerful symbol of our unity: we all together pay tribute and express deep respect for the great feat. I am sincerely glad that we manage to maintain this tradition," noted the General Director of ANO "CURS" Maxim Gafurov.

      Such unity among athletes is characteristic of Nizhny Novgorod. Since 2021, local clubs representing different sports have participated in the project "Together for Nizhny," dedicated to the Day of National Unity—a holiday with Nizhny Novgorod roots. In November matches, the teams play in a unified uniform, uniting themselves and bringing together all fans. Last year, seven teams participated in the project, united by the theme of Khokhloma painting. Moreover, in 2025, the project transformed into a full-fledged ecosystem, stepping beyond the borders of Nizhny Novgorod. A new direction "Area of Play" was introduced—away matches and master classes in the regions of the area, which brought big sports directly to the residents of small towns.

      "Together for Nizhny" is not just a slogan that has become a symbol of our sports community; it is our philosophy. When colleagues share experiences, support each other, and act as a whole, it makes regional sports stronger. And we will undoubtedly continue to develop this direction," added Maxim Gafurov.
