Navashinsky traffic inspectors discovered a large batch of narcotic substance in a passenger's vehicle.

      At the end of March, traffic police during a scheduled duty in Navashino on Soviet Street checked the documents of a taxi driver and noticed that the passenger was suspiciously nervous. The law enforcement officers decided to conduct a search of the vehicle and the passenger - a 19-year-old, previously unconvicted, native and citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan. His migration documents were in order, but in the pocket of his jacket, there were 30 packets with an unknown substance. The packets were sent to the forensic center. It was established that the seized substance was methadone, with a total weight of 1.113 grams. According to the detainee, he does not use drugs. He was traveling from Vyksa, where he had already made "drops." The suspect intended to make "drops" in Navashino and then take a train to Moscow, where he planned to work at the market. A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime under part 3 of article 30 and part 4 of article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs in large quantities). The suspect has been taken into custody. The investigation of the criminal case is ongoing. For committing the crime, the young man may face a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison. The police urge residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region to contribute to the fight against drug crime.
