Volga registers a new brand for selling spare parts.

      On May 5, 2026, at 13:33, Economy. The automotive brand Volga plans to register a new trademark VLG Tech in Russia. This follows from data from the Federal Institute of Industrial Property. The application was submitted by JSC "Passenger Car Manufacturing," which is engaged in the production of cars under the revived Volga brand. However, the new trademark is not intended for the sale of cars themselves. The list includes only automotive components and consumables, including technical fluids, lighting elements, and other parts. Plans to revive the Volga brand became known in February 2026. Car production has been established at the factory in Nizhny Novgorod, where cars from Skoda and Volkswagen were produced before the start of the special military operation. The first model of the updated lineup is the K50 crossover. Externally, it resembles the Geely Monjaro, which became the best-selling all-wheel-drive car in Russia by the end of 2025. Other models, the C50 and K40, also bear similarities to cars from the Chinese manufacturer, referring to the Geely Preface sedan and the Geely Atlas crossover. Although the head of the Volga brand, Tatyana Fadeeva, assures that JSC "Passenger Car Manufacturing" does not cooperate with Geely either directly or indirectly. The first owner of the flagship Volga K50 crossover was the governor of Nizhny Novgorod, Gleb Nikitin. He purchased the new model even before the official start of sales, which is scheduled for June 2026. Earlier, the president of the Association of Russian Automobile Dealers (ROAD), Alexey Podshchekol'din, assessed the prospects of the revived automotive brand.
