Mobile internet has been accelerated in 25 villages in Shakhunya.

      On May 5, 2026, at 13:51, the Digital Ecosystem of MTS completed the installation of additional LTE standard equipment in the urban district of Shakhunya in the Nizhny Novgorod region. As a result of the network modernization, high-speed mobile internet has become available to residents of another 25 settlements.

      Next-generation connectivity has appeared in the villages of Malinovka, Polovinnaya, Krasnogor, Skorodumovo, Bolshaya Svezha, Malaya Berezovka, and other rural areas of the district. In total, about 1,500 people have gained access to improved communication quality.

      The expansion of infrastructure allows residents to use educational platforms and learn remotely, stay in touch with loved ones through messengers, and also apply for government services online. Additionally, rural areas gain more opportunities for local business development and the use of digital services.

      The project has been implemented as part of the phased development of the network in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The operator analyzes the network load and subscriber requests, identifying settlements where modern telecom services are particularly in demand.

      Andrey Belov, the director of MTS in the Nizhny Novgorod region, noted that stable mobile internet is now a basic infrastructural need, especially for remote areas. According to him, the company will continue to increase network capacity and expand LTE coverage in the region so that residents can confidently use digital services regardless of their place of residence.
