      The restoration of the Nizhny Novgorod Literary Museum named after Maxim Gorky in Nizhny Novgorod is proceeding according to schedule. This was reported by NewsNN, citing the director of the institution, Larisa Motorina.

      Recall that the ancient building on Minin Street, 26 was planned to be restored for the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod in 2021, but about a year before the celebration, a fire occurred in it. The most damage from the fire was done to the Fireplace Hall. In 2022, the contract with the contractor LLC "AVK Group" was terminated because the organization was failing to meet deadlines and not fulfilling other terms of the contract. Now the restoration is being handled by the company "Gemera." They expect to complete the work by summer. In January, the mayor of Nizhny Novgorod, Yuri Shalabaev, stated that the work is 80% complete.

      Larisa Motorina noted that, in addition to recreating the interiors, the museum plans to open new exhibitions.

      For example, spaces will be dedicated to the lost garden (which belonged to the former owner, Varvara Burmistrova) and to Maxim Gorky himself. There are already ideas and conceptual approaches, thematic planning of the exhibition, added the museum director.

      It was previously reported that more than 92 million rubles were allocated for the restoration of the bell tower in the working settlement of Vyyezdnoye in the Arzamas district.
