The Nizhny Novgorod boarding house for war and labor veterans has received new rehabilitation equipment.

      On May 4, 2026, at 17:53, Society In the Nizhny Novgorod boarding house for war and labor veterans, new rehabilitation equipment worth about 2.2 million rubles has been installed. It was provided by the charitable foundation "Memory of Generations" ahead of the celebration of the next anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

      Thanks to the foundation's initiative, the institution now has modern medical beds with mattresses and equipment to support the cognitive health of elderly people - memory, attention, and reaction speed. Contributing to the health care and active longevity of the older generation is an important area of work for the region within the framework of national projects "Family" and "Sustained and Active Life."

      The equipment transfer ceremony took place on May 4. It was attended by Vadim Tsyganov, Deputy Minister of Social Development and Family Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Alexey Antonov, Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and head of the "United Russia" faction in the regional parliament, Elnora Lysova, a representative of the charitable foundation "Memory of Generations," and staff of the boarding house.

      "Supporting our veterans, especially ahead of Victory Day, is very important. For dozens of residents of the boarding house, the new equipment is not just equipment, but new opportunities for rehabilitation and, consequently, a better quality of life. We thank the "Memory of Generations" foundation for their work; this is a true example of effective social partnership," emphasized Vadim Tsyganov.

      "Care for the well-being and health of veterans is always in our focus. One of the important steps is equipping our medical wellness and social facilities with modern high-quality equipment. It is especially significant that charitable organizations are involved in this. Today, the "Memory of Generations" foundation has provided medical equipment to the boarding house for war and labor veterans. This will improve the quality of medical services provided and create more comfortable conditions for our veterans," said Alexey Antonov.

      The Ministry of Social Development and Family Policy of the region reported that the Nizhny Novgorod boarding house for war and labor veterans has been operating since 1972. Currently, 68 people live in the institution, some of whom are people with limited mobility and disabilities. The institution has mercy, active longevity, as well as social-medical and social-rehabilitation departments. In addition, there is a physiotherapy room and a physical therapy room.

      "For us, this help is very timely. The new medical beds will make patient care more comfortable, and the psychologist's kit and cognitive trainer will help our residents maintain mental clarity and activity. Thanks to this support, every veteran living with us feels a little more care and attention," summarized the director of the Nizhny Novgorod boarding house, Evgeny Smirnov.
