The FSB detained underground arms dealers in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      May 4, 2026 12:00 Incidents 150 illegal arms dealers were detained in 42 regions of Russia, including the Nizhny Novgorod region. Raids were conducted in February and March 2026, reports the FSB of Russia's Public Relations Center.

      Operational search activities allowed the identification of 364 units of firearms, both domestic and foreign-made. Among them, law enforcement seized four machine guns, seven grenade launchers, 49 assault rifles, 140 pistols and revolvers, as well as 164 rifles, carbines, and shotguns. In addition, law enforcement also seized 185 grenades, more than 36 kilograms of explosives, and over 31 thousand rounds of ammunition of various calibers.

      In total, in 41 regions of the Russian Federation, the operations of 41 underground workshops were disrupted, where weapons were modernized and ammunition was manufactured. It is noted that the criminals were also engaged in restoring the combat capabilities of civilian weapon models.
