Every fifth respondent admitted that they are not ready to work overtime at all. At the same time, 9% fully accept the necessity of overtime. The majority of respondents, 67%, agree to stay late at work only under certain conditions. The main incentive for going beyond the work schedule remains additional pay, which was mentioned by 95% of those who allow overtime. Another 45% consider compensation in the form of time off important. Personal interest in tasks motivates 36%, while the possibility of career growth motivates 23%. Over the past year, 79% of survey participants have worked overtime at least once. Of these, 35% do so several times a week, 19% at least once a week, 23% about once a month, and 12% stay late once every few months. For 35% of respondents, total overtime exceeds 10 hours per month. For 20%, it is between 5 and 10 hours, and for another 20%, no more than 5 hours. Full payment for additional hours was received by 35% of respondents, while almost one in four received partial payment. Meanwhile, 35% reported that they received no compensation at all. Overall, overtime was paid in 58% of cases. The attitude towards overtime work in the region is predominantly negative. 42% perceive it rather or extremely negatively. A neutral position is held by 27%, while 24% view overtime positively. At the same time, a culture has developed in some companies that encourages staying late at work. According to 33% of respondents, overtime is considered the norm. Another 12% noted that employers encourage it, in 79% of cases it is simply ignored, and only in 6% of companies is it customary to avoid overtime work. If the amount of overtime becomes unacceptable, 42% intend to discuss the situation with management. 24% will either start looking for a new job or reassess their priorities in tasks. Another 3% will try to refuse extra workload to leave on time. Additionally, Nizhny Novgorod (27%) has entered the top five cities with the highest share of employees working overtime.
