Nikitin urged Nizhny Novgorod residents to vote for improvement projects under the FCGS.
On May 4, 2026, at 15:58, Governor Gleb Nikitin addressed the residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region with a call to participate in voting for the improvement of public areas. This is part of the program "Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment," implemented under the national project "Infrastructure for Life."
In his video address, the regional head emphasized that the volume of government support for the development of territories in 2027 will largely depend on the activity of the residents themselves. He suggested that Nizhny Novgorod residents choose the facilities that they believe need updating and vote for them on a special platform.
"Squares, parks, and sports spaces that receive the majority of votes can become points of attraction for residents of different ages," noted Gleb Nikitin, adding that participation in the voting is an opportunity to influence the appearance of the urban environment.
The rating voting started on April 21 on the platform zagorodsreda.gosuslugi.ru. The site features 93 public spaces in 23 municipalities of the region, including Nizhny Novgorod and the Kstovo district. Among them are green areas, boulevards, and spaces for recreation and sports.
Citizens of Russia aged 14 and older can participate. Voting will last until June 12. Based on the results, projects for the winning territories will be prepared this year, and the improvement works are scheduled for 2027.
In the first two weeks, about 100,000 residents of the region participated in the voting. For comparison, last year, more than 420,000 Nizhny Novgorod residents made their choice.
The national project "Infrastructure for Life" has been implemented in Russia since 2025. It aims to develop modern social and transport infrastructure and includes a number of federal programs related to housing, roads, utilities, and public transport.
It is worth noting that Gleb Nikitin himself voted for the improvement facilities in the front rows. The first deputy head of the region, Andrey Gneushev, has also cast his vote.
