"Could not score": Garanin commented on the defeat against "Akhat"
The new head coach of "Pari Nizhny Novgorod," Vadim Garanin, commented on the team's defeat in the match of the 28th round of the RPL against "Akhat." The meeting in Grozny ended with a score of 0:2. According to the specialist, the Nizhny Novgorod team created dangerous approaches to the opponent's goal, but could not convert their chances.
"There were good approaches. But as often happens: if you don't score, they score against you. At the beginning of the second half, we set up Sefas one-on-one well, but we couldn't get a hold of the ball, and in the counterattack, we conceded a goal. Football consists of details," Garanin said.
He noted that the team did not give up even after conceding goals and continued to fight until the final whistle.
"The guys understand everything, they don't give up. And they didn't give up; they tried to rectify the situation until the end. But the second goal, if it didn't break us, made it difficult to come back. When you are behind, you have to open up, and 'Akhat' has individually strong players who can create danger. In such a situation, it's not easy to come back," said the head coach.
The mentor emphasized that despite being in 15th place in the table, a working atmosphere remains within the team.
"Now is not the time to talk a lot. The guys understand everything. And I see from the training process and now, in the game, that words do not diverge from deeds. It is clear that the guys want to. They created chances but could not score. In terms of attitude, I see that no one is giving up. There are two rounds ahead. I know that the fans are disappointed. But in a week, we have a home match against CSKA. We will try to bring out everything inside to achieve a result," he concluded.
Let us remind you that this match was Garanin's first as the head coach of "Pari Nizhny Novgorod." After the previous defeat to "Spartak," the club's management parted ways with Alexey Shpilevsky. The club's sports director, Anton Yevmenov, stated that the team intends to fight for survival in the RPL until the end.
