On May 3, 2026, at 08:00, Incidents In Sarov, a 36-year-old local resident was detained for the second time while driving under the influence of alcohol. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region. Previously, in 2020, the man had already been convicted for driving a vehicle while intoxicated. Despite his criminal record, he again got behind the wheel in a state that raised suspicions among law enforcement. The driver refused to undergo a medical examination. A criminal case has been initiated under part 2 of article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - "repeated operation of a vehicle while intoxicated by a person with a criminal record." The maximum penalty under this article provides for up to three years of imprisonment. In addition, the offender's vehicle has been seized.
