Large families can apply for compensation for their children's education in technical schools.

      On April 30, 2026, 18:08 Society Large families in the Nizhny Novgorod region can now apply for an annual compensation for part of the paid education of their children in colleges and technical schools in an online format. "Large families are a special category of state service recipients, for whom every minute counts. To enable them to apply for annual compensations quickly and conveniently, we have supplemented the in-person service with an online format, reduced the number of days for its provision from 11 to 7, and minimized the number of documents required. Now it is sufficient to provide only the contract concluded with the vocational education institution and a receipt confirming payment. A certificate of the child's education in a specific educational institution will now be requested through inter-agency cooperation," said the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Yegor Polyakov. The work to improve the conditions for providing the service was carried out by the Regional Center for Optimization of State and Municipal Services of the Nizhny Novgorod region, operating on the basis of the State Budgetary Institution of Nizhny Novgorod "Authorized MFC," in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development and Family Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the new rules, when applying, it is no longer required to provide a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation (in the case of applying through a personal account on the portal gu.nnov.ru) and documents confirming the registration of civil status acts (birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce certificates, name change certificates). To use the online service, after logging in to the portal gu.nnov.ru, it is necessary to enter the keywords "education compensation" in the search bar and select "Annual compensation for part of the cost of education for children from large families in educational programs of secondary vocational education on a paid basis" among the services. After that, follow the instructions to receive the compensation. The service can also be obtained through the MFC. In the near future, it is planned to implement a non-territorial principle for applying to the MFC, meaning regardless of registration at the place of residence. When applying to MFC branches, residents of the region can use pre-registration for receiving services.
