This initiative is supported by many residents of Nizhny Novgorod," noted Vladimir Bespalov, chairman of the committee of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region for housing and communal services and the fuel and energy complex. "We want to see our cities well-maintained and clean. It is also significant that the objects for the improvement of public spaces, created with the support of the project, were chosen by the residents themselves in the now annual public voting. I must emphasize that a nationwide voting on the selection of public spaces to be improved in 2027 has already started in the Nizhny Novgorod region. At the same time, the recruitment of volunteers for conducting the nationwide voting for the selection of improvement objects has begun. The selection of volunteers will last until June 5, 2026. And the voting will take place from April 21 to June 12, 2026," the parliamentarian said. "Volunteer support for the project has been ongoing for the sixth year in a row. The tasks of the volunteers primarily include informing residents about the design projects of public spaces put to a vote and assisting in choosing a preferred object through the 'Gosuslugi' portal. Among such spaces are parks, embankments, squares, pedestrian and recreational areas, as well as central city squares. In addition, volunteers answer citizens' questions: from the timelines for project implementation to how one can initiate and propose their own object. Volunteers will introduce residents to the projects at information points and in public spaces, as well as help them vote in a simplified format. Anyone over the age of 14 can become a volunteer. To join the volunteer project, it is necessary to register on the Dobro.RF website," said Vladimir Bespalov. "I am very pleased that the 'Urban Environment' project is not limited to the construction of new spaces and repairs, but also organizes subbotniks to maintain order.
