Leonid Samukhin has headed the Nizhny Novgorod Ministry of Transport.

      April 29, 2026 11:18 Politics Leonid Samukhin has become the new Minister of Transport and Highways of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The decree on his appointment was signed by the head of the region, Gleb Nikitin, on April 28, 2026, the regional government reported. Since December 2019, Samukhin has headed the Main Department of Highways of the region. Prior to that, he worked in positions as the director of the department and deputy head of the mayor of Nizhny Novgorod. Leonid Samukhin's entire career is closely linked to road construction and repair. Alexander Denisov has been appointed acting director of the GUAD. It should be noted that Pavel Savateev previously headed the regional Ministry of Transport.
