41 km of roads were repaired in Nizhny Novgorod in 2025.

This was announced by the city's head, Yuri Shalabaev, while presenting the report on the activities of the city administration in 2025 to the deputies of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma.

      As noted by the head, as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life," the major repairs of five significant facilities with a total length of over 10 km were completed, including sections of major highways such as Lenin Avenue and Gagarin Avenue.

      According to the city head, the activities included not only road surface repairs. In addition, markings were applied, barriers were installed, and local issues were addressed: "For example, near the 'Switzerland' park, an additional 73 parking spaces were equipped."

      Yuri Shalabaev added that last year more than 240,000 square meters of pothole and patch repairs were completed, exceeding the previous year's level by 43%.

      In his report, the city head focused on the issues of further development of the metro. "In 2025, our metro celebrated its 40th anniversary. Over these years, it has established itself as a reliable mode of transport and has become an important part of the lives of many residents. During its entire operation, it has transported more than one and a half billion passengers. The metro is continuously developing—technical bases of stations and transitions are constantly being updated, modern fare payment systems are being implemented, and an accessible environment for people with limited mobility is being created. There are even exhibitions, musical, and excursion programs held there," the mayor said.

      Moreover, the construction of new metro stations continues in Nizhny Novgorod. The work on laying two tunnels between the future stations Sennaya and Ploshchad Svobody has been completed, paving the way for the next stages of construction. "I am confident that with the introduction of new stations, even more Nizhny Novgorod residents will prefer the metro as the most dynamic form of urban transport. And the metro itself, following its motto 'Speed. Reliability. Comfort,' will reach a new level of development," Yuri Shalabaev stated.

      It should be noted that over the past 6 years, more than 300 km of roads have undergone major repairs in Nizhny Novgorod, and pothole repairs have been carried out on nearly 910,000 square meters.
