This became known at a meeting of the Council for Land and Property Relations under the regional government, reports NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" correspondent. The application was submitted by LLC "ETALON". They are requesting to lease a plot of 2200 sq. m on Kazansky Highway, 1b at the intersection with Brinsky Street for the construction of a hotel. The facility will be directly opposite the FSB Institute. The investor is ready to invest 450 million rubles in the project. The construction area will be approximately 825 sq. m. Mingrad proposed to postpone the consideration of the project until the meeting of the architectural council to determine the parameters of the planned construction. The administration of Nizhny Novgorod categorically opposed the implementation of the project, as the land plot is occupied by green spaces, is in municipal ownership, was formed for the construction of a security point, organization of parking, and is also a buffer zone between the main street of city significance and residential buildings.

The council also recommended offering the investor another plot for the implementation of the project. It should be noted that earlier the council considered another hotel construction project in Verkhniye Pechery - in the area of house No. 2 on Nizhnepecherskaya Street. However, a final decision was not made, as there were concerns about the proximity of the plot to the church. The issue is proposed to be revisited after coordination with the diocese.
