Only in the Mari El Republic are the snowdrifts 1 cm higher. As noted by Anton Maximov, the deputy head of the Nizhny Novgorod administration, the meteorologists' forecasts for the beginning of the week were only partially fulfilled: "According to the Hydrometeorological Center, about thirty millimeters of precipitation fell over the past day, and the height of the snow cover ranged from 21 to 27 centimeters, which significantly exceeded the initial forecast. By order of the city head Yuri Vladimirovich Shalabaev, all road services were put on heightened alert for the entire past day, today, and, accordingly, the night shift. Up to 40 units of equipment were involved in processing the roadway with anti-icing materials during the night shift. About five hundred tons of technical salt were used for this. For this, 29 vacuum pumping machines and 28 motor pumps are operating around the clock. We are also cleaning bus stops, pedestrian paths, sidewalks, and stairs," noted Alexander Kutsenko, adding that the April snowfall can be compared to the anomalous precipitation that fell in Nizhny Novgorod last January. Workers at municipal road enterprises have to work in practically non-stop anomalies. Sergey Vinnikov, a driver of a combined road machine from the MBU "Center," servicing the Nizhny Novgorod district, says he loves his job even in such weather. "You see, the Nizhny Novgorod district is very large, there are many cars, and they can't always be bypassed. We have to navigate around them, which affects both speed and the quality of work. Our task is to ensure that the Zelensky descent does not get blocked so that cars can ascend.
