Currently, a proposal has been sent to the Russian government for the allocation of funds for the purchase of trolleybuses with increased autonomous range. The CRTS clarifies that the issue is under consideration. It is also noted that a year ago, trolleybus traffic was discontinued in the hilly part of Nizhny Novgorod. Instead, electric buses began to be used. The regional Ministry of Transport explained that the wear and tear of the trolleybus fleet reached 94%, and its complete renewal required significant investments. Meanwhile, trolleybus routes continue to operate in the riverbank part of the city. Ahead of 2026, tests were also conducted in the city for the new trolleybus "Olgerd" of Belarusian production, capable of operating without a contact network. In addition to it, models "Sinara," "Avangard," and "Admiral" were tested in Nizhny Novgorod.
