      April 22, 2026 16:30 Society Since the beginning of the tick activity season, 148 people, including 53 children, have sought medical assistance in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor. According to data as of April 22, cases of tick bites have been registered in 34 municipalities, as well as in five districts of Nizhny Novgorod — Avtozavodsky, Kanavinsky, Leninsky, Soviet, and Prioksky. The highest number of reports was recorded in the Kstovsky and Pavlovsky districts — 14 cases each, as well as in the Vetluzhsky and Pervomaysky districts and in Dzerzhinsk — 10 cases each. Residents most often encountered ticks in their yards — in 28% of cases. Another 15% of bites occurred in villages and rural areas, 11% each in garden plots and forests. Isolated cases were registered in parks, squares, cemeteries, and other places. Specialists examined 219 ticks removed from people. Borrelia were found in 20 of them. Infected parasites were identified in the Bogorodsky, Sosnovsky, Kstovsky, Pavlovsky, and Balakhna districts, in the urban district of Semyonovsky, as well as in the Nizhny Novgorod district of Nizhny Novgorod.
