The employment service has helped over 2.7 million residents of Nizhny Novgorod find jobs in 35 years.

On April 19, 2026, the Russian Employment Service celebrates its 35th anniversary. During this time, with its support, over 2.7 million residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region have found employment. Governor Gleb Nikitin noted that the service's employees have become true guides for people in the labor market. According to him, they not only provide services but also help the economy by supplying businesses with personnel. He emphasized that today the unemployment rate in the region remains one of the lowest in the country, which means the system is working effectively. The head of the region also thanked the veterans who were at the origins of the service and the young specialists who continue to develop it.

Over the years, the residents of the region have received about 8 million consultations and various support measures. More than 200,000 people have been directed to professional training and retraining. As of the end of 2025, with the assistance of the employment service, 26,167 Nizhny Novgorod residents were employed.

In 2023, the Nizhny Novgorod region was among 17 regions where comprehensive modernization of the employment service was completed under the national project "Demography," which continued in 2025 in the format of the national project "Personnel." After the reform, all centers were united into a single structure under the brand "Personnel Center 'Work of Russia'."

The Minister of Demography and Human Capital Development, Igor Pantyukhin, emphasized that today the service's task is broader than just helping with employment. It involves building career trajectories and creating conditions under which every resident of the region can realize their potential, and employers can find qualified specialists.

Currently, there are 40 updated branches of the personnel center operating in the region. They function on the principle of a "single window" and are oriented towards the needs of both job seekers and companies.

Since 2025, a national project "Personnel" has been implemented in the country at the request of President Vladimir Putin. The activities of the national project are aimed at the quality training of personnel to meet the needs of employers through coordinated work between educational institutions, companies, and the state.

It was previously reported that 186,000 rubles are being offered to welders in the Nizhny Novgorod region. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
