      Specialists from the Nizhny Novgorod laboratory of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VNIIZH" identified discrepancies in cottage cheese and sour cream after conducting sample studies. This was reported by the press service of the interregional Rosselkhoznadzor Administration. In the samples, discrepancies were found in the fatty acid composition, as well as the presence of vegetable oils and plant-based fats. Specialists note that dairy products with such violations may contain low levels of beneficial fatty acids and high levels of saturated fats, trans fats, and cholesterol. Furthermore, the use of vegetable oils (including palm oil) instead of milk fat reduces the nutritional value and quality of food.

      Regular consumption of such products is associated with an increased risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and may contribute to the development of cardiovascular diseases, the agency clarified. The information has been entered into the automated system "Vesta" and forwarded to the Administration for response measures.
