Nizhny Novgorod residents were informed about who should receive the encephalitis vaccine.

      On April 16, 2026, at 11:31 AM, Society Vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis is conducted at the expense of the budget of a specific subject of the Russian Federation and only with a special decision from the chief state sanitary doctor of the subject of the Russian Federation or their deputy. Otherwise, the vaccination can be done for a fee, the Ministry of Health of Russia reminded TASS.

      As explained by the department, vaccination against tick-borne viral encephalitis is included in the vaccination schedule for epidemic indications. It is recommended for residents of regions where the disease is widespread, as well as for those planning trips to such territories.

      In addition, the vaccination is indicated for representatives of certain professions. These include workers in the logging and agricultural sectors, geologists, and other specialists whose activities are associated with an increased risk of infection.
