"Citizens of the USSR" in the Nizhny Novgorod region refuse to pay for electricity
On April 16, 2026, at 10:51, Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, supporters of the organization "Citizens of the USSR" (recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation - Ed. note) have accumulated debts for electricity exceeding 1 million rubles. This was reported by the press service of "TNS Energy Nizhny Novgorod."
Official notifications about the upcoming disconnection of electricity supply due to non-payment were sent to the activists. Out of 80 debtors, 45 individuals have already been subjected to restrictions — their properties have been disconnected from power.
The energy company emphasized that adherents of the destructive movement continue to use the infrastructure of modern Russia while simultaneously denying its legitimacy. At the same time, they spread manifestos calling for the non-payment of consumed electricity and other utility services.
Most often, elderly people fall under the influence of the mentioned organization.
It was previously reported that two "Citizens of the USSR" in Nizhny Novgorod were sentenced to two years in a penal colony for extremism.
