On April 16, 2026, at 10:38, Incidents: The court fined a resident of Kstovo for a hate-inciting comment regarding the case of a hand-to-hand combat coach. This was reported by the press service of the regional court.
The reason was a comment posted in August 2025 in the Telegram channel "By the way..." (16+). The user left it under a publication about the criminal case against the hand-to-hand combat coach.
As established by the court, the text contained statements with linguistic signs of negative evaluation of a certain group of people based on nationality. These formulations were recognized as aimed at inciting hatred or hostility based on nationality and origin. The comment was deleted by the Center for Countering Extremism of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region before the start of the court proceedings.
During the court session, the woman admitted her guilt and expressed remorse.
The Kstovo City Court found her guilty and held her administratively liable under Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation — for inciting hatred or hostility and humiliating human dignity. She was fined 10,000 rubles. The ruling has not yet entered into legal force.
It is noteworthy that in August 2025, reports were made about the dissolution of another jury in the case of hand-to-hand combat coach Nikolai K. He was accused of murdering a Rosgvardiya officer in May 2021 on Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street. According to the investigation, a group of intoxicated servicemen began to harass two girls. Their husbands intervened, leading to a fight. When Nikolai's friend was knocked to the ground and beaten, he pulled out a knife and fatally wounded one of the attackers, who turned out to be a Rosgvardiya officer. After the incident, the man himself went to the police and was arrested. Meanwhile, the beating of his friend was also investigated, resulting in the Rosgvardiya officers receiving suspended sentences.
In April 2026, the Nizhny Novgorod District Court completed the re-examination of the case. It found Nikolai K. not guilty of the charges under paragraph "z" of part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and acquitted him.
