This was stated by the director of the city's administration department for landscaping, Elena Pegova, at a meeting of the permanent commission of the city duma, reports NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" correspondent. According to her, there are 21 beach areas in the city: 14 beaches and 7 recreation areas by the water. "During the month of landscaping, these areas will also begin to be brought to a standard condition. The maintenance of the beach areas is carried out by the districts of the city and the directorate of parks and squares — it has seven beaches and one recreation area," she noted. Elena Pegova added that one less beach is planned to be opened in the summer period. This is due to the fact that landscaping is being carried out in the 777th anniversary park, where the recreation area is located, as part of the "Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment" program. The work is expected to be completed in mid-summer. "Therefore, it makes no sense to put the beach into operation," she emphasized. According to Elena Pegova, as part of the preparation of the beach areas, equipment will be repaired, sand will be replaced, and underwater surveys and cleaning of the water area will be conducted.
