In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the head of the migration department of the district police department, accused of organizing illegal migration and receiving a bribe, appeared in court (Operational video)

      The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Nizhny Novgorod Region have initiated a criminal case against the head of the migration department of the police department, accused of committing a crime under paragraph "b" of part 2 of article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of illegal migration) and part 3 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (accepting a bribe).

      According to the investigation, in September 2025, the head of the migration department, knowing about the fact of the illegal stay of a foreign citizen in the Russian Federation, did not take measures to hold the accepting party and the foreigner administratively liable, nor did he prevent the foreigner's further illegal stay in the territory of the Russian Federation, for which he received a bribe of 15 thousand rubles.

      As a result of the illegal actions of the accused, the legally protected interests of society and the state were significantly violated.

      At the request of the investigator of the regional Investigative Committee of Russia, the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for the accused. The criminal case was initiated based on materials from the operational-search activities of the FSB of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Currently, the investigation has collected sufficient evidence, and therefore the criminal case has been sent to court for consideration on the merits.
