The Nizhny Novgorod Ministry of Health will purchase a thousand doses of the papillomavirus vaccine.

      April 13, 2026 13:20 Society The Ministry of Health of the Nizhny Novgorod Region has announced the procurement of a vaccine against the human papillomavirus (types 6, 11, 16, 18). This was reported on the government procurement portal. It is planned to purchase 1,000 doses. The initial price of the contract is 8.7 million rubles. Applications are accepted until April 16, and the results will be announced on April 20. It was previously reported that up to 90% of residents of Nizhny Novgorod encounter the human papillomavirus in their lifetime. In most cases, the body manages to cope with the infection on its own. However, HPV can cause not only benign tumors but also oncological diseases. The high-risk types of the virus, primarily 16 and 18, are responsible for almost all cases of cervical cancer.
