According to the district administration, work will be done on the streets of Yanka Kupala, Sputnik, Krasnouralskaya, Kosmicheskaya, South Boulevard, and others. According to the head of the district administration, Alexander Nagin, the cleaning of the district after winter has started in advance. "Avtozavod covers a significant area of 94 square kilometers, which determines the large volume of upcoming work. We pay special attention to the condition of children's playgrounds and sports facilities. After a snowy and cold winter, we need to check all play elements, replace or repair parts if necessary, paint and clean swings and playgrounds, and soon we will start bringing sand to the sandboxes. And, of course, I have instructed to tidy up the benches for adults. Now children are spending more and more time outside – this week forecasters are already predicting up to +14 degrees, so we need to speed up the work," Alexander Nagin instructed the contracting organizations. Also, as part of the month of improvement, road and utility services in the district have planned work to clean more than 250 km of curb strips of roads; clean 400 hectares of lawns and earthworks; wash and paint 19 km of safety barriers and noise protection screens, more than 300 trash bins and 120 bus stops, and more. Cultural institutions, sports organizations, educational organizations, territorial public self-governments, enterprises, housing management companies, administration staff, and active residents of the district will hold more than 300 community clean-up days. "Spring has come, which means it's time for our traditional community clean-up days! We are cleaning both in our yards and in the entrances, because Avtozavod is our common home, and we need to take care of it. I will say this: let's all together keep an eye on cleanliness. Don't be lazy, clean up after yourself – it's not difficult!" believes Svetlana Kruglova, a resident of Kosmicheskaya Street. "Our large family participates in district clean-up days every year. This year, our youngest son Nikita will join us. This is his first participation in a clean-up day: we specifically bought him children's rakes," said Lyubov Gorokhova. The mayor, Yuri Shalabaev, also reported that about 120,000 people will participate in the upcoming work during the month – employees of road enterprises, contracting organizations and housing management companies, teams from city enterprises, activists from public organizations and territorial public self-governments, employees of district administrations and municipal institutions, and concerned Nizhny Novgorod residents. "We will use 750 units of equipment. In the coming month, we will continue all ongoing work around the clock, and we also plan to renovate 630 container sites, which is almost twice as many as two years ago, 325 children's playgrounds, and 52 sports grounds. We will carry out patch repairs on 27,000 square meters, update 2,500 square meters of sidewalks, as well as 32 monuments and memorials, plant almost five hundred trees, and improve lawns," the mayor stated.
